Our Team

AMA Pediatric Therapy has a team consisting of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), Developmental Therapists, and Certified Montessori Educators to provide your child with a mindful therapy that is unique to them. BCBAs oversee behavior management protocols and develop individualized behavior intervention plans. Our RBTs are responsible for implementing these plans under close supervision of BCBAs in both individual and group settings.

What to Expect

Meet with the AMA Pediatric Therapy team for an initial intake and strategy discussion. Functional Assessments will be scheduled with our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to evaluate the needs of your child and family. Our BCBA will then choose the most effective methods to create an individualized intervention package to accelerate development and learning. This includes elements that:

Reduce aggression and other challenging behavior

Improve adaptive behavior and cognitive development

Increase self-expression and language development

Improve motor skills and promote coordination through practical life activities

Develop sensory regulation

Activate the child’s natural desire to learn

What to Expect (continued)

A carefully curated team of Behavior Therapists and Registered Behavior Technicians will then provide one-on-one and group based ABA services within the Montessori environment.

Behavior Change Plans

Behavior plans contain thoughtfully chosen procedures for teaching new skills to reduce challenging behaviors.

Additionally, our BCBAs train caregivers on how to respond to everyday learning, behavioral challenges, and how to reinforce skills that are developed during therapy sessions.

We recognize that a primary key to success is collaboration to build communication and relationships amongst the AMA Pediatric team of professionals, children, caregivers, and the extended community.

Enrollment is currently open for those looking for pediatric therapy services in conjunction with AMA Montessori classroom placement.

About American Montessori Academy

We invite you to become acquainted with our Montessori way of life.

American Montessori Academy delivers the highest standard of Montessori education by meeting the academic, social, emotional, spiritual and intellectual needs of children 8 weeks to 9 years of age. We are a network of independent Montessori schools that offers year-round, all-day programs based upon the Montessori Method in stimulating learning facilities, located in the South Loop, Andersonville (opening in 2021), affiliates on the North Shore, and online through engaging remote learning curriculum.

Our main objectives are to provide a carefully planned, stimulating environment which helps children develop within themselves the foundational habits, attitudes, skills and ideas which are essential for a lifetime of creative thinking and learning. When engaged in well-structured tasks, the students experience a deep inner satisfaction which leaves them with an overall positive attitude toward the joy of learning.
